FRUIT, FLORA & EVERYDAY DESIGN
This montage is a collective overview of the work which was built in the everyday collection of images in The Edith Collection Portfolio. It contains parts of images which reflect different methods of rendering the design. These images were built as a result of following design trends while exhibiting at SURTEX. There are a variety of methods of application as well as type and style of rendering. There are Impressionistic works, Pointillist, Fresco, Watercolor, Patch design, Realism, Collage, Landscape and so on. I am not putting all these collections in galleries but rather I am going to briefly describe some of the contents of these works. I am going to use these designs to place the images in my on-line shops. Currently I am putting this area into a shop called ‘a la Mode’ which is in the Zazzle group of galleries. It will be developed on CafePress as well.
Example: the use of watercolor as a method of rendering or fresco as a method of rendering a design.
The look and feel of watercolor is quite different from the look or feel of a frescoed work. For the latter, is it a ‘real’ fresco or a work that looks like a fresco and by that, what is it that is done and why.

The rooster is an image from a collection called TUSCAN SUMMER. That collection has works which are rendered in a style that looks like a fresco. The image was painted on a type of plaster base which absorbs the paint and with a little actual sanding over the paint, it begins to look like what a real frescoed image might look like. It is paint on plaster. The texture of the surface lends to the definition of the work. The sunflower image is also painted on a plaster base. It too is painted with both acrylics and gouache.

These are the types of designs that are contained in the catalog for Everyday images. This collection comes in the FRUIT & FLORA portfolio and all the work there is relative to the garden. There are insects, flowers, birds, snails, fruits, baskets and they are done in a variety of different approaches. The simple straight forward image to the more complex grouping of motifs into one design.
