HALLOWEEN
This collection was a source of great fun, memory of my childhood and my imagination. I thought I would never be able to think of characters much less a collection of the little mischief makers in all their fun and foolishness. It all started as you know with my aunt and the courage to do this but Halloween characters actually started in a miserable traffic jam in Pigeon Forge, Tn., during the mid 90’s. We were heading to the Smoky Mountains to enjoy the fall leaves and had to drive through Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. You know, for fun. It was the week-end for football - Alabama vs Tennessee! Gee Whiz, how was I supposed to know. It was a sea of orange and the traffic was jammed as far as one could see and there was no turning back. I was so put out and Hal, my husband, was just relaxing and taking it all in. Finely, with no other choice, I began to look at the displays of hay bails, scarecrows, and harvest of every imaginable kind of pumpkin and gourd. Then I be gan to realize, there was my Halloween right before my eyes. Building the collection was done over several years but always inspired by the celebration that takes place in these Tennessee towns.
The images are now being used on products in Halloween Night and October 31, my two Halloween shops. When I was licensing these images were put on many different products. They were created to be used on the vary type of product I am now editing them for use on. One of the most exciting products, however, is Keds shoes. I love putting these characters on the shoes and matching apparel and trick-or-treat bags with the design. By the time 2009 Halloween rolls around, I will have LOADS of things in product from cards and posters to more shoes and apparel.
